Net revenues at Italy-based online retailer Yoox soared 30
percent to €266.1 million (£212.3 million, $338.2
million) in the nine months ended 30th September. Earnings were
also up 34.4 percent to €15.9 million (£12.7 million,
$20.2 million) during the period.
North America is Yoox’s largest market, with net revenues of
€56.3 million (£45.0 million, $71.5 million),
representing more than 20 percent of sales, and up 40 percent on
the first nine months of last year. In Europe, the main markets
were France, Germany and the UK, which delivered improved
figures, and Russia, where Yoox experienced
“outstanding” results.
Yoox, which powers sites for brands such as Pringle of Scotland
and Armani alongside its own multibrand websites, attributed the
growth in profit to improved operating efficiencies brought about
by its new global logistics platforms and the greater
contribution of web marketing activities.
