In a fairly flat overall trading quarter to 12 July 2014, Kingfisher total sales were up by just 0.7 per cent equating to minus1.3 per cent on a like for like basis. However whilst B&Q’s sales were 2.5 per cent down, Screwfix sales grew by 22.6 per cent, like for like +11.9 per cent. The Screwfix business is still expanding, having opened a further 12 outlets during the quarter to bring its portfolio up to 356 stores.
