Very Group co-owner Sir David Barclay who, with his twin brother Sir Frederick created an empire including interests in media and property as well as retail, has passed away. Aged 86, the twins achieved renown for their high profile acquisitions which ranged from the Telegraph newspaper to the Ritz Hotel to Littlewoods (now trading under the Very Group banner).
