Kingfishier which owns DIY supplier B&Q and trade supplies specialist Screwfix has confirmed that Sir Ian Cheshire will step down as its group chief executive before the end of its current financial year, retiring from its board on 31st January 2015.
Sir Ian has held the role of CEO for nearly seven years and has worked for Kingfisher for some 16 years. He will be succeeded by Veronique Laury, the chief executive of Kingfisher’s French business Castorama who has been with the group for 11 years.
