Soletrader reports hike in conversion rates

Soletrader has seen conversion rates rise by 30 per cent on its main UK and outlet websites since implementing independent accreditation, money-back guarantees and customer review technology from Trusted shops. The shoe retailer appointed Trusted Shops to provide its verified Trustmark 12 months ago, and has since seen a sharp rise in customer numbers and sales.

Soletrader is also planning on supporting its international operation with Trusted Shops’ technology. Its newly launched German site will feature the accreditation, to help target niche markets in Germany. Trusted Shops is highly regarded by German consumers, who are traditionally cautious when buying from unfamiliar overseas brands.

“Using Trusted Shops’ customer review collection has enabled us to considerably increase the amount of reviews we collect on the Soletrader and Soletrader Outlet websites,” said Luke Goodman, eCommerce project manager at Soletrader. “As Trusted Shops becomes more present in the UK market, we’ve also been very impressed with the security offered by the Trustmark and money back guarantee. Starting with Trusted Shops has helped increase conversion rates on average by almost a third.”

The retailer began working with Trusted Shops in October 2015. It previously used Trustpilot. Soletrader has 48 stores across the UK and an online presence worldwide, shipping via global shopping company Borderfree.

“Soletrader is instilling confidence in customers who in turn are happy to make a purchase. Our solutions enable Soletrader to collect reviews in a flexible way via different channels, and the brand is currently rated by customers as ‘excellent’,” said David Chau, executive director of international markets at Trusted Shops.

Trusted Shops certifies online shops by rigorously checking them against a set of quality criteria before they can display the European Trustmark. The combination of Trusted Shops’ money-back guarantee and review system means customers are able to order online with confidence. The company works with over 25,000 retailers across Europe.
