Sosandar reports improved first half

Online fashion business Sosandar has posted turnover of £21 million for the six months to September 30th, 2022, which is up by 72 per cent on the prior year. The business also moved into profit with £77k pre-tax against last year’s £1.077m pre-tax loss.

Average order frequency grew by 8 per cent and AOV by 4 per cent at £90. The business also said that its sales via third parties including M&S, Next and The Very Group were strong and that sales via its new partner N Brown Group’s JD Williams were developing well.

Co-CEOs Ali Hall and Julie Lavington commented; “We are very pleased to be reporting a strong performance for the six months ended 30 September 2022, with trading in line with our expectations for full year growth. Our continued revenue growth has enabled us to reach a significant milestone in delivering another six months of profitability, achieving a substantial swing from a loss of £1.1m in the same period last year to a profit before tax of £0.1m for the current period.”

The business says that demand for dressy clothing for the Christmas festivities has been strong in the current half with record sales generated in October and November. This will, it says, mean that its full year results will be in line with market expectations of £42.8 million sales and £2m in pre-tax profit.
