Sports Direct is to close a facility in Wigan which it acquired in 2012 as part of its JJB Sports takeover from the administrators. The packaging functions managed in Wigan will be transferred to the retailer’s larger Shirebrook facility and it is understood that affected staff are being given the opportunity to take up roles in Shirebook. The Wigan warehouse will be shuttered on June 13th.
