In its latest interim statement, SuperGroup has
achieved a 15.9 per cent increase in its sales for the period 7 April 2014 to
26 July 2014.
Total Retail sales in the period were up 13.6
per cent at £60.4m. New store openings were predominantly in mainland Europe,
adding 13,000 square feet, including a large-format store in Marseille
and a smaller one in the Alpine resort of Kitzbuhel, Austria, for the launch of
the Superdry skiwear range. In Germany 6 stores, including the German
flagship in Munich, are due to open later this year. The business also
operates 20 local market websites which are understood to trading well.
Wholesale sales for the period increased 21.6 per cent to £26.6m.

“We have delivered another quarter of double-digit sales growth across
both Wholesale and Retail. The order book for autumn/winter 2014/15 is in line
with our expectations and continues to demonstrate the global appeal of the
brand. With our strong pipeline of new stores, particularly in mainland Europe,
the continued evolution of the ranges and our improved infrastructure we remain
confident that we have the platform to deliver profitable growth in the current
year.”
Since the first Superdry store opening in 2004, the business has grown rapidly and now operates 526 branded locations. There are 96 owned stores and 64 concessions in the UK. There are 50 owned stores, 126 franchised and 13 concessions in Europe. The remainder of the estate is made up of franchised and licensed stores in the rest of the world.
