Tesco is planning to close its Cardiff contact centre operation early in 2018 with the loss of 1100 jobs. It is relocating the work to its Dundee centre where around 250 new jobs will be created.
Tesco CEO Matt Davies said “The retail sector is facing unprecedented challenges and we must ensure that we run our business in a sustainable and cost-effective way while meeting the changing needs of our customers. To help us achieve this we’ve taken the difficult decision to close our customer service operations in Cardiff.”
