The Hut group posts high growth year


The Hut Group grew its sales to £736 million, up by 47 per cent and EBITDA up by 38 per cent to £69 million for the year ended 31 December 2017. International sales rose to £512 million, representing 70 per cent of group sales following as the business benefited from its acquisitions. Reflecting this international growth, THG was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade Category. 

The north-west based business had also acquired service providers Hangar Seven and UK2  in order to strengthen its THG Ingenuity platform alongside its acquisition of further beauty brands, namely ESPA, Illamasqua, RY.com.au, and GlossyBox.

IThe Hut Group is now ploughing ahead with the staged development of a new 870,000 sq.ft. head office at Manchester Airport which will eventually house 10,000 employees. At year end it counted a workforce of over 4000 spread across the UK, USA, Europe and Australia and expects to create 2000 additional jobs in 2018.
