Victoria Plumb unveils first TV ad campaign

Online bathroom retailer Victoria Plumb has launched its first TV
ad campaign. Airing on 1st October, the 30-second commercial,
which runs for four weeks during peak-time viewing across a range
of terrestrial and digital channels, represents Victoria Plumb’s
first investment in above-the-line advertising.

Commenting on the campaign, marketing manager Sam Jenkinson says,
“We have invested a six-figure sum in the TV advertising
alone and we expect it to boost sales over and above the very
strong double-digit increase we have recorded year-on-year. We
operate in a highly competitive marketplace and in tough economic
conditions, yet despite this, we are in a period of growth and
our investment in TV will build on this and consolidate our
position in the sector.”

The “six-figure campaign” forms part of Victoria
Plumb’s overall investment in its aggressive marketing strategy
which continues into 2013, and comes after the recent
announcement that the Yorkshire-based bathroom e-tailer is on
target to achieve turnover of £25 million for the current
financial year.

The advert, designed by Leeds-based Principles Agency with Carat
responsible for media buying, showcases best-selling lines from
the Victoria Plumb range and closes with the strapline
“Always Low Prices”. It run concurrently with
Victoria Plumb’s offline marketing, including print advertising
across national newspapers and consumer home-interest press and
flyer inserts. Victoria Plumb has also produced a consumer
catalogue to help convert web traffic into orders.
