The Hut Group to create 500 jobs

The Hut Group (THG) is to bring forward the creation of 500 new roles across its manufacturing, logistics and order fulfilment facilities. The online giant which specialises in beauty, health and nutrition products says it is enjoying a surge in demand for its products as well as for its technology platform from FMCG brand companies looking to grow their direct-to-consumer online sales opportunities. The roles being fast tracked were originally planned for later in the year and most are for its Warrington site, with others in Poland and the US. THG is making the move to try to offset redundancies in the UK’s north west region caused by the effect of coronavirus.

CEO Matthew Moulding said: “Some of the region’s (NW) biggest employers have had to make incredibly tough decisions in recent days, leaving a worrying number of people out of work at such a vulnerable time. Our message to those affected is that we will look to do whatever we can to help, and so we are bringing forward our recruitment plans. We are now hiring across our manufacturing and logistics sites with immediate effect.”
