Wickes extends CitySprint home delivery contract

Wickes extends CitySprint home delivery contract

Following an ‘extremely busy year’, Wickes has signed a new multi-million-pound contract extension with CitySprint.

The agreement will see CitySprint continue to provide its ‘smart fulfilment’ delivery support to the home improvement retailer – across its network of over 200 stores – for another three years.

CitySprint started working with Wickes in 2016. The new contract will see the distributer continuing to provide its single and two-person local delivery services from stock held by local Wickes stores. Orders are delivered within pre-advised delivery windows for maximum customer or tradesperson convenience.

The items typically delivered range from standard DIY products, including tiles, plumbing, electrical fittings and tools, to key building materials such as fence panels, timber and ready to fit kitchens.

Lisa Goward, head of customer fulfilment at Wickes, said: “2020 was a year that tested our partnership’s agility and strength to the maximum. Over the past 12 months, CitySprint provided us with invaluable delivery support – responding rapidly to the changing demands brought about by the Pandemic. We are extremely grateful for their continued support and look forward to developing our partnership over the next three years.”

Darren Taylor, business solutions director at CitySprint, said: “The current pandemic has seen the demand for delivery of these types of products to home and on site accelerate.  2020 was an extremely busy year for essential retailers and the expansion of our partnership with Wickes reflects the success of our collaboration over the last year. We look forward to continue working with them to provide their customers with the delivery options that are most convenient to them.”
