Online retailer ASOS officially opens its French office this week, in Lille. The company appointed Gaele Wuilmet as its country manager for France late last year. She was previously director of ready-to-wear at Amazon France.
To further support its international growth ASOS is recruiting for senior roles back in the UK. The online retailer is looking for senior software and database engineers, assurance analysts and development team leaders to help manage its international eCommerce operations working out of its new Birmingham office. While looking for 20 roles initially, ASOS says staff numbers in Birmingham could rise to 50 over the next year.
The news follows stellar financial results from ASOS, which saw retail sales rise by 37 per cent year-on-year and first half retail sales grow by 34 per cent to £352 million. International sales account for 59 per cent of total retail revenues.
