Tesco’s sale of Dobbies in moving along apace with interest being shown from beyond the horticultural sector. Interest is being shown by Terra Firma which owns Wyevale as well as Edinburgh Woollen Mill and purported others who operate successful concessions within garden centres. A deal is expected to be finalised in the first half of June, taking forward Tesco CEO Davis Lewis’ plan to rationalise the supermarket business by ridding it of “diversions”.
