Screwfix bolsters Kingfisher half year results

Kingfisher which operates B&Q, as well as Screwfix in the UK market, saw its sales rise by 4.5 per cent to £6 billion for the six months to July 31st, 2017. However, when compared on a constant currency basis it’s overall like for like sales had actually fallen by 2 per cent.  The business had experienced business disruption following the implementation of a new IT solution as well as come under pressure in an increasingly competitive market.

However, Screwfix achieved an 18.7 per cent increase in its sales, to £727 million, for the period in which it opened a further 16 stores. Screwfix had enjoyed a 109 per cent rise in mobile sales and 47 per cent growth in click and collect sales.
