Crew Clothing has posted sales of £61.1 million representing an increase of 3.1 per cent along with a rise in net profit. During the year, to end December 2018, the business had developed a collaboration with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and had begun to reap the benefits of its significant earlier investments across its stores and in its online presence. Now with 81 UK stores, the business is poised to further leverage its LTA sponsorship which it says helped it to target core suburbanite customers in their forties. Interestingly, whilst store sales rose by around 2 per cent, its online sales were up by a quarter during the year.
David Butler, CEO commented: “Despite widespread difficulties across the UK retail sector, our performance is indicative of the resilience of a certain segment of UK consumers and their continued willingness to buy products which offer exceptional quality at reasonable price points.”
