Depop has introduced a buyer’s premium to the sale price of all items bought from its marketplace site from April 15th. The fee is capped at 5 per cent of the purchase price for UK buyers. This has enabled Depop to remove the fee burden from its UK sellers who have been paying ten per cent of the selling price achieved on the site.
Depop CEO Kruti Patel Goyal said: “For years the Depop community has been championing preloved and vintage fashion and pioneering change in the fashion industry.
“With more and more people now looking at resale as an alternative to retail, we want to amplify the impact of our growing community by continually finding ways to make it easier to participate in the circular economy.”
