eBay raises currency charge for UK sellers

eBay will increase its seller currency conversion charge for UK-registered businesses from 2.5 per cent to 2.75 per cent on 1 December 2026.

The charge applies when eBay converts money connected with an item listed or sold on another eBay site.

For example, a UK seller listing on eBay Germany may have sterling converted into euros to collect listing fees and sale proceeds converted back into sterling for payment.

eBay’s transaction exchange rate combines a wholesale-market base rate with the fixed conversion charge, which the marketplace retains.

The change adds 0.25 percentage points to the cost for UK sellers using international eBay sites.
