Debenhams offers marketplace sellers daily access to sales revenue

Debenhams Group has launched a cash-flow service allowing eligible marketplace partners to access up to 80 per cent of revenue from shipped orders each day.

The Daily Advance service, provided by Storfund, replaces the need for participating sellers to wait for the standard marketplace payment cycle. It is optional and available across Debenhams, boohoo and PrettyLittleThing, subject to Storfund’s eligibility checks.

When Debenhams makes its marketplace payment, funds are deposited into a Storfund account. The provider then releases the remaining 20 per cent to the seller, less its fee. There are no subscription or set-up charges and no minimum term, according to Storfund.

Debenhams Group said it has more than 30,000 brand partners and that marketplace activity now represents 38.9 per cent of group gross merchandise value, compared with 32.7 per cent a year earlier.

The companies said faster access to sales proceeds could help sellers fund stock and respond to demand during peak trading. They did not disclose typical fees, eligibility thresholds or take-up targets.
