The Organic Pharmacy founder Margo Marrone buys back the brand

Margo Marrone, who founded The Organic Pharmacy in London in 2002, has bought back the health and beauty brand, eight years after selling it to Italian pharmaceutical group Istituto Ganassini.

Companies House records show Marrone was registered as a person with significant control of The Organic Pharmacy Limited on 8 October 2026, holding 75 per cent or more of the shares. Istituto Ganassini ceased to be a person with significant control on the same date. Marrone also rejoined the board as a director on 8 October.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed. A statement issued on the brand’s behalf said Marrone returned as founder and owner from 16 October.

Plans for the brand

According to the statement, the brand will put its founding principles of health, detoxification and lifestyle back at the centre, with skincare part of a wider approach that includes nutrition, supplements, natural remedies and healthy ageing. Spas and clinics will be a key focus as Marrone looks at opportunities in professional wellness.

Marrone said it was “incredibly emotional” to return and that she was looking forward to “getting creative again”.

The Ganassini family will remain a partner through distribution in Italy and will focus its wider business on other pharmaceutical brands.
