Axminster powers ahead online

Axminster Power Tools Centre reached new highs in Christmas 2006,
taking over 16,000 orders and £1.5 million sales online
between November and December. This represents a like for like
increase of 60 per cent. Ian Styles, managing director, said,
“We invested heavily into a new e-commerce website about 18
months ago and have seen our online sales consistently outperform
other aspects of our business.” Styles attributes some of
the growth to achieving high positions on search engines.
“Type ‘Power Tools’ into Google UK or World and we are
number one or two in the natural listings,” he said.
“This helps to generate up to 20,000 visitors a day to our
site.”
