Shop Direct Group, parent company of Littlewoods
Direct, claimed the number-two spot in The Telegraph’s list of Britain’s 10
largest privately held retailers, with sales of £1.83
billion. Arcadia/BHS topped the list.

Number six on The Telegraph’s list, £1.36 billion
general merchandiser Wilkinsons told the paper that sales from its recently
launched web and catalogue business, WilkinsonPlus, “have
been very encouraging”.

Argos managing director Sara Weller talks to This Is Money about why her company isn’t
