The German government refused to grant struggling
Arcandor state aid yesterday, but it has given the company

assistance.

The EU Court of Justice will hear Interflora’s suit to
stop Marks & Spencer from bidding on its trademark name as

Flowers Direct, which it had also sued.

year, according to the British Retail Consortium. The decline is

Robertson as saying, “The turnaround in sales of big-ticket
items such as furniture and large electricals, which would
indicate real change in the mood of customers, still eludes
us”.
