Findel’s healthcare division is up for sale according to
The Financial Mail on Sunday. The article, which does not
appear to have been published online, claims that Findel
appointed financial services firm KPMG to sell its
Nottingham Rehab Supplies business. Findel has yet to
comment.
Some good news from apparel and home goods
cataloguer/retailer Next-it posted better than expected
sales “prompting its boss [Simon Wolfson] to say the
downturn on the high street was not as bad as feared”,
writes the Guardian. Although like-for-like store
sales were down 2.3 per cent in the 14 weeks to 2nd May, this
was well ahead of Next’s estimated decline of 6 to 9 per cent. A
later–and warmer–Easter was credited for helping boost sales.
Dabs.com’s founder David Atherton was last week cleared
of five charges against him, including one of attempted rape.

Sven Gaede, the former chief executive of
Net-a-Porter, has joined luxury handbag retailer
Radley as chief executive. Radley, which has nine stores
in the UK as well as an online arm, is expecting to record a 10
per cent rise in sales for the fiscal year ending April 2009.
