As expected, maternity fashion retailer/cataloguer
Blooming Marvellous has fallen into administration,
reports the Financial Times. Administrator MCR is
trying to sell the company as a going concern.
The good news for ethical-fashion etailer Adili: For
the six months to 31st October, sales nearly doubled, from
£140,000 to £250,000. The bad news: Its losses grew
nearly 50 per cent, from £630,000 to £900,000. During
the period it introduced its own fashion line, and in November it
relaunched its website. For the four weeks to 21st December, its
year-on-year sales grew 33 per cent, and in the weeks since,
year-on-year sales have climbed 102 per cent.
The Recycle Works has launched a spin-off website,
Gardening with Children. Though designed primarily as
“an interactive classroom, allotment plot, and hobby
garden for the 21st century,” the site also sells
gardening products.
Fabrics and home goods marketer Cath Kidston is
debuting an eponymous customer magazine. Published six times a
year, it will be mailed free to the company’s house file and may
also be included in a summer issue of Easy Living
magazine.
Two weeks after Freemans Grattan Holdings announced the likelihood of mass
redundancies, two Bradford Labour MPs are planning to meet
with the cataloguer’s executives “to see what could be
done,” according to the Bradford Telegraph & Argus.
“Plymouth’s Deluxe Del Boy”, as the Plymouth
Herald dubs him, has bought the entire
stock of failed furniture merchant MFI. He plans to sell
the stock online at www.MFIstock.co.uk and 20 or so stores in
the London area.

recommendation from The Telegraph.
