to be on the brink of administration,” according to
The Times.
Seminal tableware brand Waterford Wedgwood will fall
into administration today, reports The Guardian.
Mosaic, whose fashion brands include Karen Millen,
Oasis, and Principles, is reported to be in talks
with Icelandic bank Kaupthing regarding its loan payments.
Mosaic is partially owned by troubled Icelandic investment
group Baugur.
Newly knighted David Jones was named executive chairman of
troubled sporting goods retailer JJB Sports. The former
chairman of Next, who was largely responsible for
launching its Directory catalogue division, joined JJB as deputy
chair in October.
Utterly Horses, a cataloguer of model horses, is cited
as an example of small companies “smiling through the
slump” in The Guardian.
