Half-year catalogue and web sales at
Mothercare and its Early Learning
Centre brand rose 14.4 per cent, while total sales grew
8.2 per cent. UK like-for-like sales increased 4.1 per cent.

Three companies remain interested in buying the
Primondo mail order group from insolvent German
retailer Arcandor, according to the Wall Street Journal: Cerberus Capital
Management, Golden Gate Capital, and Texas Pacific Group.
Golden Gate’s portfolio of US catalogues, which includes
Appleseed’s, Eddie Bauer, and Norm
Thomspon, has annual revenue of more than $1.1
billion. Texas Pacific sold its remaining shares in US
cataloguer/retailer J. Crew Group earlier this
year.

founder of tailored-shirt merchant Charles
Tyrwhitt, kicks off with Wheeler insulting the blouse
