At least one person is a fan of Royal Mail: Liberal Democrat
Scottish affairs spokesperson Alistair Carmichael. He wants
online sellers to offer Royal Mail as an option for deliveries to
the Highlands and other remote areas, the Aberdeen
Press and Journal explains because of private couriers
typically charge very high fees for those locations or don’t
deliver there at all.
On the other hand, fashion etailer ASOS
blames the recent Communication Workers Union strikes against
Royal Mail for the fact that its UK sales for the seven weeks to
15th November were up “only” 23 per cent from the same
period last year, reports The Times.
File under “Charity Begins at Home”: The
Good Gifts Catalogue, which sells vouchers for items
such as a year’s schooling for a child in Africa (£25) and
an acre of rainforest (£50), now includes a £20
voucher to “whittle down the national debt”.
According to The Telegraph, so far
£500 has been donated via the vouchers.
Congratulations, AstleyClarke.com: The
jewellery etailer won the Walpole Award for Best British Luxury
Brand Online.
