News roundup–Arcadia, Stanley Gibbons, ASOS

Billionaire retailer Sir Philip Green has told staff at Arcadia, which operates Topshop and Burton, that profits will slump this year,
writes the Telegraph. It is understood that the snow in December left Arcadia with too much stock going into the January sale period.

Philately specialist Stanley Gibbons announced that sales in the first half of the year rose 25 per cent to £15 million, with underlying pretax profit up 12 per cent to £1.8 million–in line with expectations.

Online fashion retailer ASOS  has launched an iPad app for its customer magazine. Developed in-house, the launch coincides with a redesign of the printed edition. iPad users can access 360-degree product views and rich-media content like behind-the-scenes video and music.
