Private equity-controlled fashion retailer New
Look is expected to appoint advisers in a bid to
restructure its £1 billion debt, reports The Financial Times.
Pet supplies retailer Pets at Home has hired
American Golf boss Nick Wood as its new chief
executive, reports the Independent. He succeeds Matt Davies who
announced his departure this past autumn.
Following reports yesterday that womenswear retailer Fenn
Wright Manson is working on restructuring the business,
it has emerged that the company has filed a notice to appoint
administrators. The Express reports that the retailer has 10
days to appoint an administrator and “prevents any third
party, such as a creditor, from launching a legal action against
the firm, making it easier to concentrate on a rescue
plan”.
The Financial Times profiles Charles
Tyrwhitt founder Nick Wheeler. In the piece he thanks
the Barclays Bank manager who loaned him the money to buy a
classic car–which he sold for a huge profit– giving him his big
break and the opportunity to launch his shirt business.
Iceland Foods and Appliances
Online’s parent DRL, are The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For in the
retail sector. Iceland takes the top spot nationally in The
Sunday Times 25 Best Big Companies to Work For list, while DRL
was only bettered by four other companies in the overall table
according to The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For
