Critchlow exits HSL leading to new MD appointment

Guy Critchlow who held the CEO role at HSL, a specialist chair manufacturer, has left the business. He had joined in 2016 and made a significant contribution to its growth culminating in the achievement of Carbon Neutral certification, the Queen’s Award for Innovation and sector-leading ratings on Trustpilot.

HSL specialises in the mature and assistive mobility sector with a range of quality seating which it markets direct to consumers. The brand has modernised in recent years, led by Venessa Hodgson who joined the business in 2014 and who is now promoted to the position of managing director designate from that of marketing and people director.

In a statement, the owners of HSL, William and Debra Burrows, said: “The business is forever grateful for Guy’s outstanding contribution, and we wish him well in his future ventures. But as this era with Guy comes to an end, we are really excited to see Venessa undertake her new position, driving the business forward ad the first female head of the business.”
