Finisterre implements Zoa platform for rentals

Surfing brand Finisterre is using Hirestreet’s white label rental platform Zoa to rent out its wetsuits in a move which is in keeping with its sustainable positioning.  Finisterre is charging a daily rental charge of 2.5 per cent of the total RRP of each  Yulex Pure™ wetsuit and offers free delivery and a prepaid label for returning after use. Its wetsuits are made from clean natural rubber with recycled spandex and recycled polyester which is a sustainable alternative to petroleum based neoprene.

Every year there is a new ‘wave’ of consumers trying out surfing as well as those who only get to surf once or twice a year and for which buying a suit of cost-prohibitive when cost per wear is factored in.  There are also those who prefer to try out a new wetsuit before buying and are attracted by the option to purchase at the end of their rental period.

Founder of Finisterre Tom Kay said: “We’ve seen the success of rental schemes across the clothing industry. Replicating this for our wetsuits will not only allow our customers to try before they buy, and show off the strength, performance and durability of this naturally derived material, but will help us shift the industry towards an environmentally and socially responsible cleaner alternative to neoprene.”
