Boden founder, Johnnie Boden has been awarded a CBE for his services to fashion and to the retail sector in the New Year’s Honours List.

Boden launched back in 1991 with a small collection of menswear which was marketed via a catalogue. As the business built it added womenswear and childrenswear, developing its reputation for bright colourful quality ranges which quickly grew its customer base in the UK as well as in Europe and the USA. The business launched online in 1999 and has also trialled stores. It currently operates a single outlet at its Hangar Lane HQ whilst selling in a number of John Lewis stores.
The Boden business was one of the founding members of the Catalogue Exchange (CatEx), a trade group which supports direct commerce retailers and which is now known as the Direct Commerce Association (DCA).
