M&S adds strategy chief

Marks & Spencer has named Katie Bickerstaffe as its chief strategy & transformation director. Bickerstaffe will fulfil the obligations of her new role whilst continuing to serve on the M&S board as an executive director. She will take up her new role on April 27th and replaces Melanie Smith who is CEO of Ocado Retail.

“Katie has been a great help to me and the wider management team in her role as a non-executive director and I am delighted that she will now be part of the executive team,” said Steve Rowe, M&S CEO. “Her experience in leading roles at UK food and non-food retailers and track record of delivering large-scale change will be invaluable as we accelerate our transformation.”
