News roundup—14th May 2009

The Ski & Outdoor Warehouse was admonished by the
Advertising Standards Authority for an
e-newsletter that tied the death of Natasha Richardson following
a ski accident to a price reduction on ski helmets.

In an article titled “Iron Lady of Argos tackles
internet age”, the Daily Mail interviews Argos managing
director Sara Weller.

Speaking of Argos, The Mirror reports that its suppliers are
up in arms about the cataloguer’s decision to pay invoices
within 60 days rather than 30.

The Mirror also calls out gifts mailer
Bits & Pieces for still not fulfilling all its Christmas
orders and for a lack of transparency (to put it nicely).
