Stationery supplies business Corporate Express has
sold its printing subsidiary Veenman to Xerox for €43 million. (£34.6
million)

Sportswear retailer JJB is to close 72 stores with the
loss of around 800 jobs. The Birmingham Post reports on troubled
JJB’s fall in profits-down 28 per cent to £33.8 million in
the year to January 27. Adding that “a £25 million
hit relating to the cost of closing the stores meant
bottom-line profits fell 72 per cent to £10.8
million.”

The retail slowdown has claimed its latest victim, this time
it’s discount apparel retailer Ethel Austin. The Liverpool Daily Post reports on the
history of the chain founded in 1934.
