Never mind: Five months after it began selling apparel
online, Tesco has yanked the items from its website,
reports The Times, as it seeks to “improve
the offer”. The Times also has a brief review of the Tesco website. In a nutshell:
“The website lacked that mix of keen pricing and
attractive store layout which, in other areas, cajoles us into
committing £1 out of almost £7 we spend to
Tesco.”

The Telegraph looks at the latest wave
of dot-com entrepreneurs. On its “ones to watch”
list: fashion retailer Net-a-Porter.com, optician site
GlassesDirect.co.uk, printing website Moo.com and
VideoJug.com, a portal of instructive videos.

In what is hopefully not a harbinger of things to come,
computer behemoth Dell is closing a manufacturing facility
in Texas, in what is believed to be its first such closure in its
24-year history, according to theFinancial Times.
