Cataloguer Screwfix was a bright spot for parent
company Kingfisher during the quarter ended 2nd February. The
tools direct marketer posted sales of £110 million, up 24
per cent from the comparable period of the prior year. Overall,
though, Kingfisher’s like-for-like UK sales, derived
primarily from its B&Q home-improvement chain, fell 2
per cent, to £989 million, according to the Press Association.
Next is expanding its home delivery into the rest of
Europe, reports The Telegraph. The fashion and home
goods cataloguer/retailer began testing delivery into Spain
this week and is looking to branch out into France, Germany and
Portugal as well.
