News roundup–Adili suspends shares, the Hut to grow overseas, more

The future of ethical-fashion etailer Adili
hangs in the balance after talks to finance the business broke
down. Adili suspended trading in its shares yesterday “pending
clarification of the company’s financial position”.

Home-entertainment etailer the Hut Group
will launch multilingual and multicurrency websites later in
2010, reports the Telegraph in its “Gloombusters”
column. The article looks at the Hut Group’s soaring sales
following the acquisition of Zavvi in
2009.

The Independent features a news item about how
January’s adverse weather and the VAT rise affected shopper
numbers last month. On the web, the number of visits to online
retailers fell by 19 per cent between December and January.
Whilst a dip was expected, the piece notes this was a greater
decline than anticipated.

is planning to launch a sports site, selling both sportswear and
