New Argos boss John Walden told the Telegraph he may have to close down some of
the retailer’s 700 stores and that Argos needed to make the
in-store “customer experience better”.

Casual-apparel retailer/cataloguer Cotton
Traders has is ramping up its pay-per-click activity and
appointed ChannelAdvisor to manage its PPC programme.

Having launched a mobile website just after Christmas,
Furniture Village says average basket values
already exceed those on the company’s main eCommerce site. The
retailer attributes this phenomenon to “the accessibility
and usability” of its m-commerce site, which it developed
with mobile specialists We Love Mobile. Furniture Village
currently receives 20 per cent of visits to its website via a
mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.
