Boden is introducing a maternity range as well
as an online-only premium womenswear subbrand for spring 2011,
writes Drapers. Marketing director Mark Binnington
told the magazine the move was in a bid to reduce the company’s
reliance on catalogues and their restrictive production
schedules.
Drapers also reports that
ASOS has hired Mothercare
eCommerce director Leighanne Miles to head up the development of
its apparel marketplace platform.
Shop Direct may be moving its IT operations
overseas, threatening 151 jobs at the company’s Liverpool
headquarters, reports the Liverpool Daily Post.
According to the Yorkshire Business Desk, tea and coffee
business Bettys & Taylors saw sales rise 15
per cent in 2009. The company, which also operates the
Bettys By Post confectionery catalogue saw
pretax profit dip 3.3 per cent in the year to October 2009-down
from £7.96 million to £7.7 million. The article goes on
to say that Bettys’ directors have committed to invest £3.9
million into the business this year.
Avon is moving its catalogue printing from
Pindar, reports PrintWeek, but is keeping mum as to which
supplier has won the contract.
