News roundup–Dwell, Fat Face, more

Furniture retailer Dwell has appointed Peter
McKenna as its first multichannel director. McKenna previously
held a senior commerce role at TV-shopping specialist
Sit-up Channels, and prior to that was trading
director at womenswear cataloguer/retailer
Artigiano.

After announcing
solid financial results for the year to 2nd June
, Fat
Face is now eyeing international expansion. Chief
executive Anthony Thompson told the Financial Times that he expects Fat Face’s
overseas push to begin within a year.

Parcel delivery firm GeoPost has taken a stake
in international logistics provider, Worldnet
Direct. Following the investment, Worldnet will continue
to operate as a standalone business but benefit from access to
the resources and support of its global partner. The Worldnet
service will now be available through two UK GeoPost brands,
DPD UK and Interlink Express
and over time, the model will be rolled out across Europe.

The Hertfordshire Mercury has a piece on local
shop Boutini launching an eCommerce website. The
store was founded by a former Next designer Jane
Meekcoms.
