Gifts and gadgets etailer Firebox has appointed
a new head of marketing to take over from managing director and
current head of marketing Christian Robinson, who steps down in
September. Pete Danks joins from business-card etailer
Moo.com, where he was head of acquisition
marketing. He also previously worked for Yahoo!
where he led partner marketing at comparison site
Kelkoo. The announcement follows the recent
appointment of Paul Zimmerman as managing director.

In an interview with Drapers, Koert Tulleners, chief executive of
Freemans Grattan Holdings, said the UK business
had returned to profit after the company’s restructure.

Argos is revamping its branches and investing
£70 million into modernising the stores. The Guardian talks to managing director Sara
Weller, who is ringing the changes.

Online DVD rental business LoveFilm has agreed a
deal with Hollywood studio MGM that will allow customers to watch
its films online, reports the Telegraph.

Fashion etailer ASOS.com is beginning to accept
applications to trade on its new marketplace platform, which goes
live later in the year.
