Mothercare says its transformation plan is “progressing well” following its restructured store portfolio and relaunched website. These improvements have helped Mothercare narrow group underlying losses from £4.4 million in the first half last year, to £600,000 in the 28 weeks to 13th October. International profits grew by 20 percent, while the like-for-like sales trend in the UK improved. Like-for-like sales declined by 3.4 per cent for the first half of the year, against a 7 per cent decline in the same period the previous year.
