My-Wardrobe, the luxury-apparel etailer, is
looking for a chief executive to spearhead the company’s
international growth, according to the Financial
Times.
Sportswear retailer JJB Sports has hired former
Kitbag managing director Ray Evans as director
of football. Evans takes up his new position in the New Year. In
the 26 weeks to 31st July, revenue at JJB fell 22.6 per cent from
£184.0 million to £142.4 million. Pretax losses widened
from £24 million to £66.5 million, during the
period.
The Express reports that apparel etailer
ASOS is embarking on a “mass discounting
and email marketing campaign” to ramp up UK sales. In the
same story, the newspaper writes that businesswear
cataloguer/retailer Charles Tywhitt is expecting
to generate £100 million in revenue for the first time and
record a third consecutive year of growth.
DVD and games rental service Lovefilm has
reported its first ever profit, writes the Mail on Sunday. In 2010, Lovefilm saw sales
rise 15.2 per cent from £79 million to £91 million. The
company made a profit of £6 million, compared with a loss of
£22 million in 2009.
It’s not feeling festive on the UK high streets, writes the
