This morning QVC made its first broadcast from
its new purpose-built media and commerce centre in Chiswick. The
new build represents a £33.6 million investment by QVC and
sees the TV shopping specialist take over 13,000 square metres
over five levels, designed to accommodate the company’s
continuing expansion.

Sales at embattled camera retailer Jessops rose
3 per cent to £236.8 million in 2011, compared to the
previous year, writes the Leicester Mercury. Without disclosing
specifics, Jessops reported a “strong rise” in
earnings as the result of improved profit margins and cost
control.

Marks & Spencer has become the first major UK
retailer to meet sustainability targets, the Guardian has more on the story.

After the April washout, the sunshine allowed the high street to
continue its slow recovery. The latest figures from the BDO High
Street Sales Tracker show mid-tier retailers’ like-for-like sales
up 1.3 per cent year-on-year.

Help for Heroes, the charity that raises money
to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded
during service, has relaunched its online shop and website
following a redesign by eCommerce agency Webtise.
