Royal Mail has recruited Martin Roberts as its new chief retail officer.

Roberts will be responsible for the Post Office network of 11,500 branches and will also oversee its cash distribution operation. He is moving from B&M where he has held the role of UK operations director for six years and has previously worked as head of retail and online for Vodafone, as a retail director at Wickes, having commenced his career at Sainsbury’s.
