Seasalt to create 23 jobs in Cornwall

Cornish multichannel retailer Seasalt is set to create 23 new
jobs this year as a result of a £120,000 investment from the
Business Catalyst Fund. This investment is part of a project
totalling £300,000 that commenced in 2010. The capital will
help install a new product lifecycle management system and create
new jobs in Cornwall to support the company’s continued
growth.

The Business Catalyst Fund is a £5 million fund to help
eligible businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly improve
productivity and create jobs. It was made available from the
government’s Regional Growth Fund following a successful bid from
the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership
(LEP).

“Seasalt employs highly skilled staff, from graphic designs
and fine artists, to logistics experts and textile
designers,” commented Chris Pomfret, chairman of the
Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP. “This investment will
help fuel the company’s growth ambitions and ultimately create 23
more quality jobs in Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly.”

In the past year Seasalt started supplying John Lewis, increased
its online offering and launched its first printed catalogue.
Seasalt’s managing director Neil Chadwick hinted that
international expansion may now be on the cards thanks to the
investment in product management systems.
