Wade-Gery leaves M&S

Laura Wade-Gery will leave her board role, executive director of multichannel, in which she led the multichannel operations of Marks and Spencer, including its 800 stores and online trading activities, after five years, one of which has been taken up with maternity leave. Having been due to return to the retailer this month, Wade-Gery has instead negotiated a severance package and has already stepped down from the board. Meanwhile, the retailer is planning to shed some 500 head office roles in a cost-saving endeavour whilst also relocating 400 staff to offices outside the capital in locations including Hemel Hempstead and Stockley Park, near Heathrow.

Marks and Spencer is not looking to immediately replace Wade-Gery and will instead continue with Helen Weir taking care of eCommerce distribution and Sacha Berendji in charge of stores as they have for the past year.
